On January 18th 1958,Lt Pierre Galland, Test Pilot of the C.E.V on his 241st flight broke the world record for speed on a 1000 kilometer stretch between Istres and Cazaux, averaging a speed of 1020 km/h in the Dassault Etendard IV.
